ELECMAN® ULCertificate Steel EMT Coupling Compression Type
The Steel EMT (Electrical Metallic Tubing) Coupling Compression Type is another type of connector used in electrical installations to join two pieces of EMT conduit. EMT conduits are thin-walled metal tubing commonly used for protecting and routing electrical wires in buildings.
Similar to the EMT connector, the compression-type coupling consists of two main parts: a threaded male end and a compression ring or nut. When connecting two pieces of EMT conduit, the male ends are inserted into the conduit ends, and the compression rings or nuts are tightened onto the conduits using a wrench. This creates a secure and tight connection between the two pieces of conduit.
The use of compression-type couplings ensures a reliable and durable connection between EMT conduits, providing mechanical protection to the electrical wiring inside. These couplings are commonly employed in electrical installations where the need arises to extend or connect separate sections of EMT conduit.
