ELECMAN® ULCertificate Steel Rigid Coupling Compression Type
Steel Rigid Coupling Compression Type is an electrical conduit fitting designed for use with rigid steel conduit systems. Similar to the connector mentioned earlier, this coupling utilizes a compression mechanism for securing and fastening the rigid steel conduit in place.
In this design, the coupling features a compression nut and a threaded sleeve. The rigid steel conduit is inserted into the coupling, and the compression nut is tightened onto the threaded sleeve, compressing it against the conduit. This compression action creates a secure and tight connection, ensuring that the conduit is held firmly within the coupling.
The compression type coupling offers advantages in terms of ease of installation and removal. It facilitates a quick and tool-free assembly as it eliminates the need for set screws. The compression mechanism provides a strong and reliable connection, preventing the conduit from slipping or disconnecting.
Similar to the set screw type, the compression type coupling is commonly used in applications where rigid steel conduit is preferred for its durability and resistance to physical damage. It is suitable for various industrial, commercial, and outdoor settings where rigid conduit systems are installed. The design meets the requirements of electrical codes and standards, offering a secure and dependable solution for connecting sections of rigid steel conduit in electrical systems.
